Ingredients

Pineapple coconut base
  • 1 cup pineapple juice or crushed pineapple (drained) Use fully drained crushed pineapple for a creamier result.
  • 0.5 cup coconut cream or coconut milk Coconut cream makes a thicker soft-serve texture.
  • 2 tbsp sugar or agave Sweeten to taste; both work well for a bright pineapple flavor.
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice Adds tang and helps balance the sweetness.
  • 0.25 tsp vanilla extract Rounds out the flavor like the classic.
  • 0.06 tsp salt A small pinch sharpens the pineapple.

Equipment

  • 1 Ninja Creami pint container

Method

Blend the base
  1. Blend pineapple juice or crushed pineapple with coconut cream, sugar, lemon juice, vanilla, and salt until completely smooth, with no visible pineapple bits.
Freeze
  1. Pour the mixture into the Ninja Creami pint container and freeze for 24 hours until firm.
Process into soft serve
  1. Process on the Sorbet or Lite Ice Cream setting until thick and scoopable with a swirl-ready consistency.
Adjust texture if needed
  1. If the texture is too firm, add 1 tablespoon pineapple juice, then re-spin until creamy and pipeable.
Serve
  1. Transfer the pineapple soft serve to a piping bag and pipe into cups for a classic Dole Whip swirl, or serve directly from the pint.

Notes

For the smoothest swirl, freeze the pint for the full 24 hours before processing. Store leftovers in a sealed freezer-safe container up to 1 week; for best texture, let thaw 2–3 minutes before re-spinning. Freezing again after processing can make it hard—re-spin works best. Dietary swap: this recipe is already dairy-free when using coconut cream or coconut milk.
